Just glanced back to my "Shinedown" post and noticed I said I was going to do a post on Halestorm! Well here it is..
First of all, they were excellent when they supported Alter Bridge, thoroughly enjoyed myself however, Shinedown did not sing "Call Me"!!! I was/ am still distraught. Moving on! Halestorm- Halestorm is a hard rock band from Pennsylvania fronted by one of the most talented/ beautiful front women in the industry. Her name is Lzzy Hale and she has one of the most versatile voices I think I have ever heard; she can sing, she can scream and she can sure as hell play guitar. I am pretty sure if she ever wanted to go solo, she could produce some pretty awesome music on her own. But! If you accompany her diverse skill set with the awesomely entertaining drumming skills of Arejay Hale (Lzzy's brother) and you have yourself a top quality band. Arejay is seriously one of the most entertaining and skilled drummers I have seen (and I've seen a lot of drummers...)
Halestorm have produced 2 albums since their birth in 1998. My favourite album has to be their latest one (released in 2012) it is called "The Strange Case Of..." now, for me this album is perfect. The opening track is called "Love bites (So Do I)" Which is a phenomenal piece of music, great way to start the album. In 2013, they also released something; this time it was an EP. The EP featured many covers the most interesting one I feel was a cover of 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk, I found it to be very compelling.
Time for me to introduce my favourite track, right here it is

Hatebreed!
Honey, I'm home! Yes, the heavily anticipated return of yours truly has converted from dream to reality. There has been various reasons for me not posting, main one being: broken laptop. I'm going to be doing this regularly again, I'll fit a couple of posts in tonight :)
Anyway, during my separation from my blog you may or not be pleased to hear my music taste has barely changed. The first band I am going to 'promote' is Hatebreed. Yes, as you could probably guess these guys DO NOT sing about the tooth fairy and the little spring lambs... you don't even have to listen to their music to be aware of this, just look at their track names!
About the band, well the vocalist may have anger issues. In fact erase the 'may' from the previous sentence because he CERTAINLY has anger issues. You may of heard people describe metal as "Oh, its rubbish. It's just a man shouting down a mic" (I've heard that sentence far too often, majority of the time it is said in such a dull lifeless tone, like the person who said it is just a empty droid) Well, in the case of Hatebreed, the singer -(Jamey Jasta) virtually does shout... but his 'shouting' conveys so much anger it portrays the bands themes so well. The thrashing riffs the guitarists produce are immense too! I've literally just started listening to this band and the thing that attracted me in was the first thirty seconds seconds of my favourite song. This song features on one of my favourite albums by the band, the album is called- "Supremacy" you should check it out in its entirety.
Here is my favourite song! check it out , let me know what you think

Dillinger Escape Plan!
Right... She's gone again, might squeeze another post in.
This band are... well the only word I can use to describe these is MENTAL. There are several live videos you can access on YouTube that show the lead Singer (Greg Puciato) with blood dripping from his head, I have been told a story that he bashed his head repeatedly on the speaker on stage until his head bled... There are also rumours out there that suggest he once did a poo on stage at my local festival, Leeds Festival. So straight away you guys are thinking WHATTT!
As you can guess this band is no choir, they are a mathcore band. If you are unaware what Mathcore is, it is one of the most complex music genres in the industry comprising of "Screamy/ shouty" vocals and very very well structured riffs, which often don't fit the actual vocals, but that is the point! So the iratic music the band create really is what Greg is like on stage. The riffs have a complexity no other band I have listened to can create, so unique and literally mind blowing, and the vocals are impeccable! I really do not know how he can "sing" like that.
I have been holding out for them to be confirmed for a music festival in the UK, but I had no such luck... ANYWAY, I saw a tweet that said "Might go see Dillinger in November" I as like.. Yippeeeee! so I booked tickets and I am tagging along with that person.
Anyway... this is my favourite song (At this rate I might get to do a few posts this weekend!)

I DIVIDE
I'm back (For a very short time) thought I'd writ something whilst my girlfriend was getting dressed. Whilst I have been away I have been listening to pretty much every band on the Download Festival bill. Funnily enough that is not how I found these guys, they actually favourited a couple of my tweets on twitter, then I listened to them and realised they were playing (they're opening the second stage on the Saturday at Download Festival) Anyway. I would put them in the pop-punk genre, sounding very similar to You Me At Six, it is easily recognisable that they are one of the bands biggest influences.
The leader singer (Tom Kavanagh) does have a very powerful voice, a very good voice at that. In fact I would say he has one of my favourite voices of this genre right behind Josh Francheschi and Jeremy Mckinnon.
Anyway, bit of a quick post sorry. I'll be back properly shortly (back from Uni around the 3rd of June, laptop should be fixed then)
This is my favourite song, enjoy...
Tell me what you think.

Slayer!
Ok! You all might have heard of these guys, but with the legendary axe man Jeff Hanneman passing away today/tonight thought I'd do a post in his memory.
Not only do these guys have the coolest band name of all time, they also are one of the pioneers of thrash metal and have been rocking out since 1981! The lead singer (Tom Araya) has the best voice in thrash metal, this is fact. (Well technically it is opinion...). Former ( :( ) guitarist Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King (still in Slayer) are in my top 5 most skilled guitarists of all time. And I have not even mentioned Dave Lombadrdo, the drummer. He got crowned " the godfather of double bass" which is possibly the coolest title ever, which kind of tells you how awesome he is. The combination of these guys is killer and their name really fits with the whole sound they muster up in every single song. A little fact about these guys which also sums up their music is, they once apparently covered themselves in fake blood on one of the shows! Also they sing about serial killers and being anti-Christ, which I enjoy in a weird way.
Slayer have 11albums! Which is a great effort. I cannot fault any of these albums, seriously. If you listen to them all intently like I did, you may find "Diabolus in musica" to be slightly weaker, but I still love the album. NOW, less of the bad side! Slayers best album is undoubtably "Reign in Blood" features so many immense tracks! Like... "Angel of Death" and my favourite "Raining Blood". The riff on "Raining blood" is absolutely amazing, even if you don't like heavy metal surely you must appreciate that riff, sounds so good! They are meant to be bringing an album out later this year too, but I'm not sure how that is now because of today's events.
Slayer are a part of the "big four" thrash metal acts, other bands in this are "Anthrax" "megadeth" and "METALLICA!" If you got to see them all play together you are so lucky as I have never seen any of these bands :( which really saddens me. Tonight at the Golden Gods awards, Anthrax did a cover of Raining Blood as a tribute to Jeff, which shows the impact his death has had.
Anyway, here is my favourite (enjoy the riff)

City and Colour
If I told you this was actually one person and his guitar, and that one person used to be in a Post- Hardcore/ Screamo band called Alexisonfire you might be expecting something like ROAAARRR ROOAAARRR! But it is the complete opposite! This "band" has also been announced to play Leeds Festival later this year, and I will be attending their performance for sure!
City and Colour can be described by using the words "melodic" and has a bit of a "country" kinda of a bit like early "Taylor Swift" stuff. I absolutely love his singing voice, he has one of my favourite voices in this genre of music, so soft and mellifluous. Obviously not just him makes the music, he drafts in other musicians to feature on his tracks such as Jack Lawrence from The Raconteurs. I have not been listening to this band long (about a week) It was my friend who played them and I asked him who they were, and I've been listening to them a lot ever since.
He/they have 3 albums out at the minute and he/they are releasing one on the 3rd/ 4th June. I haven't listened to a full album as of yet but what I can tell you is that I have not heard a bad song as of yet and I have heard a lot of their material.

Skindred!
I am back! (I'm sure you all missed me -_-)
Well I am back for a very very short while (1 post, maybe 2) You see my laptop is broken :/ and I can't access an Ipad at uni seen as hough it's my dads, so I can't post D: Anyway, I will be back as quick as my laptop gets repaired!
The band I am recommending Is playing Leeds Festival they were in the latest announcement!
The way I would describe this band is, they are one of the most unique, one of the most interesting metal bands out there. They are a Reggae- Metal band, yes that is right! If Bob Marley and Corey Taylor (Lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour) had a baby, they would make Benji Webbe (Lead singer of Skindred). Benji has one of the best voices I have ever heard! and his physical presence during Skidred's live sets is astonishing (they love to get the crowd involved as you will see in the video in this post). He always wears wacky suites and never fails to get the crowd going! (I am speaking from experience here, they are one of the best bands I have ever seen). The singer doesn't make the band however, notorious for heavy awe-inspiring riffs and kick-ass drums they generate some of the greatest tracks ever. They are the second best band to come out of Wales, Sorry but I prefer Bullet For My Valentine!
Skindred have 4 awesome albums out now and they are releasing their fifth later this year. Their first album "Babylon" is a masterpiece and I think my favourite by them featuring such tracks as "Nobody" (Listen to this, this is my second favourite song by these) NOBODY, NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE. Their latest album "Union Black" is also an incredible album, which features my favourite track. I'm not saying their other albums aren't worth a mention because they sure are both "Roots Rock Riot" and "Shark Bites and Dog Fights" are also amazing. They are all easily accessible on Spotify an their albu due out this year is called "Kill The Power" it's release date is not yet known.
Anyway this is my favourite song...
